Electric Vehicles: How was 2018? and what will 2019 be like?

Vehículos eléctricosThe month of December 2018 was settled with 2,232 pure electric vehicles enrolled and 832 plug-in hybrids, which is a cumulative total of 21,181 registrations per year between 15,495 pure electric (BEV) and 5,686 plug-in hybrids (PHEV), almost doubling 2017, that closed with a total of 13,021 registrations. These figures for November represent increases of around 60% and 70% in BEV and PHEV, respectively, in relation to the same period last year.

Is it time to change cars or new ones are still too expensive and with autonomy problems? Among them, the electric vehicle seems today destined to succeed.

The electric will not prevail in two days, but its progress seems already unstoppable, although we are still far away, especially when it comes to prices. And not only in prices, but the recharge time of the batteries and the cost of them are also still far from those that will be necessary for the electric vehicle to be imposed.

But the fleets of car sharing (carsharing), which have brought the experience of the electric vehicle to the citizen, together with the latest generations of batteries with fast recharge and greater autonomy and environmental requirements are turning the electric car into the winner of mobility future.

In any case, compared to the few tens of thousands of electric vehicles currently circulating in Spain, the Ministry of Ecological Transition estimates that there will be five million in 2030. Hence, the big players do not want to stay out of a business that will require between 220,000 and half a million recharge points according to different sources.

The main demands of drivers for the final implementation of the electric vehicle are: greater autonomy (38%), suppress VAT (22%) and increase recharging points (18%), according to the National Survey of Electric Vehicle Users, performed by All Media Consulting and Electromaps.

What do we do in Bettergy?

We have charging points for electric vehicles with the best service for installation. In some cases, we integrate solar canopy projects to manage the recharge point.

1.Installation as “Turnkey” of the project: Supply, Installation, Start-up, and maintenance.

2. Complete management of the process before the Administration to obtain the incentive through the different lines of subsidy at the regional and national level.
