Hágase la luz: The easiest and safest way to buy photovoltaic energy
Ministry of Economy and Business
Call for proposals to promote Digital Enabling Technologies (THD)
File number : TSI-100907-2019-19
Project title : Digitalization of the management, operation and maintenance processes of renewable distributed generation assets for the enabling of Power Purchase agreements
With the help of the Ministry of Economy and Business, a team of experts from Bettergy is creating and launching a solution that uses technology to promote the financing of industrial rooftop plants through power purchase agreements, also known by their acronym PPAs (Power Purchase Agreements).
The contracts
These contracts are currently one of the most powerful and promising tools for financing renewable energy projects, the clauses of these contracts are essentially a mutual commitment between the signatory parties.
The producer undertakes to generate a certain amount of energy that the buyer must purchase at an agreed price for the duration of the contract.
For these projects to become a reality, both parties, developers and customers must ensure mutual trust, and the success of these agreements underlies a demand for security and transparency for energy purchase and sale transactions that is auditable by all parties.
The solution we are developing with energy meters through the funding articulated by the THD (Digital Enabling Technologies) call will allow an independent and reliable verification of the photovoltaic production, and hence of the energy purchase invoice.
Bettergy is a pioneering player in the digitization of PV assets, we understand that distributed generation demands distributed technologies.
What does Bettergy do?
Bettergy will integrate the results of this project into its EnergySequence energy efficiency platform (www.energysequence.com), extending its functionalities for the PV market from the calculation of PV engineering bids, monitoring, to the economic traceability of the assets.
As a long-term contract between producer and consumer, the process of selling a power purchase and sale project requires and consists of being able to generate a strong conviction and commitment among the signatories.
We are convinced that the sale of photovoltaic energy can be supported and grow on this technological basis.
